No. The Cotswold Way is graded easy-moderate, with daily walks of 4–6 hours. If you enjoy gentle hiking, you’ll be fine.

Can I carry my own bags?

You’ll only carry a light daypack. Your luggage (1 bag per person, up to 18kg) will be transported for you.

What’s the weather like?

Spring (10–15°C) brings flowers, summer (15–25°C) is warm and green, and autumn (10–20°C) is mild with colorful landscapes. Rain showers are possible year-round.

From 2025, most travelers will need to apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to enter the UK.

Day 01 :

Arrival in Chipping Campden

Arrive in the storybook town of Chipping Campden, famous for its honey-colored stone houses, charming streets, and historic market hall. Overnight in this cosy village as you prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 02 :

Chipping Campden → Stanton (Overnight in Toddington)

Your journey begins at the Town Hall. Climb up Dover’s Hill for sweeping views of the Vale of Evesham, then continue to Broadway Tower – the second-highest point of the trail. Descend into the picture-perfect village of Broadway, climb to Shenberrow Hill, and finish in the tranquil village of Stanton. Transfer to your accommodation in Toddington.

Day 03 :

Stanton → Cleeve Hill

Return to Stanton and head across meadows to Church Stanway. The path climbs to the ancient Beckbury Camp before descending into Winchcombe. The highlight of the day: reaching Cleeve Common, the trail’s highest point (330m), offering breathtaking views across the countryside.

Day 04 :

Cleeve Hill → Birdlip

A day of spectacular landscapes! Enjoy views over Cheltenham and the Vale of Gloucester. Pass Dowdeswell Reservoir, Leckhampton Hill, and the wildlife-rich Crickley Hill. Continue through magical woodlands past Prinknash Abbey and descend towards Birdlip.

Day 05 :

Birdlip → King’s Stanley (Overnight in Frocester)

Cross rolling hills and woodlands to Haresfield Beacon Nature Reserve, with panoramic views over the Severn Valley. Pass between the charming towns of Stroud and Stonehouse, then cross the Stroudwater Canal before reaching King’s Stanley. Transfer to Frocester for the night.

Day 06 :

King’s Stanley → Wotton-under-Edge

Start with a climb to Pen Hill for incredible views, then continue through Nympsfield Long Barrow – a Neolithic burial site – and enjoy the views from Coaley Peak. Pass the market town of Dursley, climb again to Tyndale Monument at Nibley Knoll, and end in the wool town of Wotton-under-Edge.

Day 07 :

Wotton-under-Edge → Tolldown

After a steep climb, enjoy gentler trails through the countryside. Pass Little Sodbury and the peaceful Tormarton, before arriving in Tolldown, surrounded by open countryside.

Day 08 :

Tolldown → Bath

Your final day! Stroll through Dyrham Park, ascend gently to the village of Pennsylvania, and climb to Lansdown Hill. From Prospect Stile, take in stunning views of Bath before descending into the city, ending at the Roman Baths.

Day 09 :

Return or Extension in Bath

Say goodbye – or better yet, stay an extra night or two in Bath to soak in the historic atmosphere, Roman heritage, and elegant Georgian architecture.
