Day 01 :

Arrival in Wolfgangsee or Abersee

Settle into your lakeside hotel, receive your welcome pack (maps, vouchers, route details), and breathe in the crisp alpine air. Evening free to wander the lake promenade.

Day 02 :

Wolfgangsee → Bad Ischl (Walking & Coach)

Begin in St. Wolfgang, hiking the scenic Saddle Walk to Lake Schwarzensee, where a cozy cabin offers homemade snacks. Descend through Wirer Gorge, around Bürglstein, and arrive at Strobl’s lake promenade. From here, a short coach ride whisks you to Bad Ischl, the Habsburgs’ beloved summer retreat.

Day 03 :

Bad Ischl → Bad Goisern (Walking)

Follow the historic brine pipeline trail, once transporting precious salt. Stroll past Kaltenbachau, once buzzing with imperial picnics and horse races. Continue along the Ischl river valley into Bad Goisern, gateway to Hallstatt.

Day 04 :

Bad Goisern → Wolfgangsee (Train + Walking)

Board a local train back to Bad Ischl. Then follow the charming Sissi Path past Lake Nussensee, walk along the Ischl river, and return to Wolfgangsee. Through the Blinklingmoos Nature Reserve, end your day surrounded by reed beds, alpine flora, and lakeside serenity.

Departure or Extension

After breakfast, depart or extend your stay to explore deeper into the Salzkammergut. Extra nights available on request.
