Beginning at 1,793 m at Formarinsee, you’ll descend through alpine pastures, cross dizzying suspension bridges, wander through centuries-old villages, and end at Neuschwanstein – King Ludwig’s dream castle. With luggage transfers, charming 3-star inns (upgradable to Charme hotels), and detailed maps, you hike at your own pace.

Day 01 :

Arrival in Lech am Arlberg

Settle into your hotel in Lech, a glamorous alpine village. Stroll through charming streets and get ready for the adventure ahead.

Day 02 :

Formarinsee to Lech (approx. 14 km, 4–5 hrs)

Shuttle to the glittering Formarinsee. Begin your journey along the Lech River path, surrounded by towering peaks. Return to Lech am Arlberg in the afternoon.

Day 03 :

Lech to Steeg (approx. 15 km, 5–6 hrs)

High trails over meadows and forests lead you into the Walser village of Warth. Pause for alpine cheese & smoked meats before continuing via Gehren and the Panorama Trail to Steeg.

Day 04 :

Steeg to Elbigenalp (approx. 17 km, 5 hrs)

Highlights: Holzgau’s colorful facades and the thrilling 200 m suspension bridge! Continue through flower meadows to Elbigenalp, the “heart of the valley” with its famous woodcarvers.

Day 05 :

Elbigenalp to Stanzach (approx. 20 km, 6 hrs)

Walk through the Doser waterfall mystery. Legends say it disappears and reappears yearly! Continue along high paths with epic Lechtal views before reaching quiet Stanzach.

Day 06 :

Stanzach to Höfen (approx. 19 km, 6 hrs)

Follow the wilder side of the river. Cross another suspension bridge at Forchach, traverse the Johannesbrücke and hike through the Moosberg nature reserve until you reach Höfen.

Day 07 :

Höfen to Füssen (approx. 18 km, 5 hrs)

Pass the panoramic Costaries Chapel, Frauensee lake, and the birdwatching tower of Pflacher Au. End your journey at the Lechfall waterfall, with Neuschwanstein’s towers rising before you. Extension option: explore the castles & Alpsee lake.

Day 08 :

Departure or extension

Farewell breakfast. Depart Füssen or extend your stay with an extra night.
